Fellow for 2024 representing Francophone Africa.
Being able to receive debit/credit card payments directly to Mobile Money via HeptaPay has
been a gamechanger for Emelyne – a tour operator in Rwanda.
Rwandan startup HeptaPay allows users to instantly transfer money from their debit or credit
card to mobile money accounts in East Africa.
HeptaPay is an alumni of the Google Africa Startups Accelerator, 10-week equity-free
accelerator program for Seed to Series A startups based in Africa.
The three-month programme is designed to support early-stage technology startups building
solutions that are focused on increasing financial inclusion.
Implemented by the Rwanda ICT Chamber in partnership with UNCDF Rwanda, the Government of
Rwanda and Kigali Innovation City, the FinTecHub supports innovative early-stage companies
through a combination of bespoke technical assistance, access to market and flexible
milestone-based grants, linkage to mentor and other potential partners that can accelerate
startups' business growth.
